Remove Tony Capuano from Save Venice’s board
CORPO DELLA MAIL
I’m writing regarding Tony Capuano’s role on the board of Save Venice.
Save Venice exists to preserve beauty, history, and cultural heritage. But Mr. Capuano’s leadership as CEO of Marriott International stands in direct contradiction to those values.
Marriott has failed to fulfill its long-overdue commitment to eliminate cages for hens in its supply chain—an issue widely recognized as a baseline standard for animal welfare. While Mr. Capuano helps steward an organization dedicated to protecting priceless works of art, he is simultaneously overseeing a company that continues to allow extreme confinement practices that should have been left in the past.
Cages are not a legacy worth preserving.
This disconnect undermines the integrity of Save Venice’s mission and raises serious concerns about the alignment between its values and its leadership.
For an organization rooted in preservation and responsibility, credibility matters. Leadership should reflect a consistent commitment to ethical progress.
I urge Save Venice to remove Tony Capuano from its board unless and until Marriott fulfills its cage-free commitment.
Thank you,
