Dear BCG team,
I am writing as a concerned supporter of ethical corporate leadership to raise an issue regarding board accountability.
Amanda Sourry, who’s connected with Boston Consulting Group, is also on Kroger’s board. This company took a step back from its promise to go cage-free for eggs.
Because of this, millions of hens are still stuck in wire cages where they can’t even stretch their wings.
Customers, investors, and advocates weren’t happy with this move because they thought Kroger would stick to decent animal welfare standards.
When leaders linked to big groups like BCG are part of decisions that seem to ignore important ethical promises, people wonder if these leaders are truly acting according to the accountability and integrity values global firms should have.
So what I’m asking is for Boston Consulting Group to think over this situation and maybe end the connection with Ms. Sourry. Being accountable at the top level really matters when it comes to keeping trust and showing a real dedication to doing business ethically.
