The JFK Library should stand for compassion. Remove Ron Sargent!
Corpo della mail
Dear Sirs,
I am writing as a concerned supporter of ethical leadership and institutional integrity to express my concern regarding Ron Sargent’s continued service on the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Sargent serves as Chair of the Board of Kroger, a company that has faced significant public criticism after stepping back from its commitment to transition to 100% cage-free eggs. That decision has disappointed consumers and animal welfare advocates who expect major corporations to honor meaningful commitments to improving the treatment of animals.
As Chair of Kroger’s Board, Mr. Sargent occupies one of the company’s highest leadership positions and shares responsibility for the oversight and governance of the company. His leadership role at Kroger raises serious questions about whether his record reflects the values of ethical responsibility and accountability that the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation seeks to uphold.
Board members represent more than their individual achievements—they also reflect the principles and reputation of the institutions they serve. The Foundation has an opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to ethical leadership by ensuring its Board members embody those values.
I respectfully urge the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation to review Ron Sargent’s continued service on its Board and consider whether his leadership at Kroger is consistent with the Foundation’s mission and the expectations of its supporters.
Thank you for your time and thoughtful consideration. I hope the Foundation will continue to lead by example by promoting integrity, accountability, and compassionate leadership.
Sincerely,
